Es Caülls station serves both the Es Caülls urbanisation and the Festival Park shopping centre. The station’s story is one of connection and convenience for locals and visitors alike.
The Es Caülls station first opened in 2007. But it was initially named Festival Park. The name change reflects its connection to the nearby community.
The station sits on the Palma-Manacor railway line. This line is a narrow-gauge railway. The station is 89 metres above sea level.
In 2012, a significant upgrade occurred. The line was electrified. On February 16, 2012, electric trains began running to Empalme. The full electrification to Manacor wasn’t complete until January 8, 2019.
Es Caülls station wasn’t part of the original railway line. It was added later to serve the growing area. The station has two tracks and two side platforms. A ramp provides access to an overpass, connecting the platforms. A high structure provides partial cover for the platforms.
In 2022, the station got a facelift. Repairs addressed corrosion and rust damage on the canopies.
Es Caülls offers frequent train services. Trains run to Palma about every ten minutes on weekdays. On Saturdays and holidays, the frequency drops to about every thirty minutes. Travel times to La Puebla and Manacor can exceed an hour.
Some trains skip stops between Marratxí and Palma. These “Inca Express” trains offer faster travel times. The modern Series 91 electric trains serve this route.
