Over 1,000 Enfield Borough residents lost their lives in the pandemic. Many are still living with ‘long covid’. The Enfield Living Memorial Sculpture stands as a testament to their memory. It’s a poignant tribute to those lost during the challenging times of the covid pandemic. The Enfield Living Memorial Sculpture isn’t just a static piece of art. It’s designed to evolve over time. At its heart lies a glade of trees planted in the shape of a heart. As you stand here, imagine those trees growing taller and stronger with each passing year. The Enfield Living Memorial Sculpture was officially inaugurated on a sunny Sunday. It was on September 24th. Around 200 people attended the event. They came to see the memorial, reflect, and leave messages of remembrance on cards tied to the trees. The sculpture itself was installed a week prior. The final piece was lowered into place within its heart of trees. Benches offer a place for quiet contemplation. The Enfield Living Memorial Sculpture is a space for remembrance. It also symbolizes resilience and the enduring spirit of the community.
