A colossal project rises before you Energy World a testament to human ingenuity. This isn’t just any power plant. It’s a multifaceted energy hub. Its significance stretches far beyond its imposing structure. Energy World is located in Pagbilao Quezon Province approximately 90 kilometers southeast of Manila.

Energy World isn’t merely generating electricity. It’s shaping the future of energy in the Philippines. The centerpiece is the 650 MW combined cycle gas-fired power plant. This plant is developed in stages. Block 1 and 2 each boast 200 MW gas turbines. Block 3 adds another 250 MW via a steam turbine. This impressive power generation capacity is fueled by an adjacent LNG hub terminal.

This isn’t just any terminal. Energy World’s LNG Hub Terminal is a landmark. It’s the Philippines’ first-ever LNG Hub terminal. A strategically important asset for the country’s nascent gas industry. This facility can handle up to 3 million tonnes of LNG annually. That’s enough to power up to 3000 MW of gas-fired power plants. A deep-water jetty ensures it can handle any size LNG vessel. The terminal supports Energy World’s power plant. It also offers expansion options for Energy World and third-party clients. It operates on a tolling model for those third-party clients.

In November 2018 the Pagbilao Power Project including the LNG terminal received a significant designation. The Philippines Department of Energy certified it as an Energy Project of National Significance. This underlines its importance to the nation’s energy security and economic growth. The project faced delays but persevered. The initial 2023 start date pushed back. But this ambitious project continues toward its goal of providing clean and reliable energy. Energy World stands as a symbol of progress. A vital part of the Philippines’ energy landscape. It represents a commitment to sustainable energy solutions. This complex plays a key role in securing the country’s energy future. A future powered by innovation and strategic planning.
