What began in 1958 as Elim Chapel has blossomed into the Emmanuel Assembly of God. It stands here today as a testament to faith and community.
The story of Emmanuel Assembly of God started in a humble rented terrace house. This was at 25 Everitt Road. Back then it was known as Elim Chapel and was part of Elim Church.
In 1969 the church embraced its new identity. It became affiliated with the Assemblies of God in Singapore. This is when it adopted the name Emmanuel Assembly of God.
As the congregation grew Emmanuel Assembly of God needed more space. From 1980 Sunday morning services were held in rented halls. The growing needs of the church were evident.
The Lord provided a solution. In August 1985 the present site at 165 Upper East Coast Road was purchased. At that time it was just a single-storey building.
The church continued to flourish. Multiple services became necessary to accommodate the increasing number of worshippers at Emmanuel Assembly of God. In 1996 the original property was demolished. A new four-storey building was constructed in its place.
After only 17 months of construction the new church building opened. This happened on April 18 1998. It marked a new phase in the life of Emmanuel Assembly of God.
Emmanuel Assembly of God is more than just a building. It is a family that cares. It is a place where everyone is welcome. The church desires to see people encounter the love of Christ. The members want to reflect that love in the community.
The mission of Emmanuel Assembly of God is rooted in Matthew 28:19-20. They make disciples of all nations. They baptize them in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. The church believes in the Great Commission. They strive to see people transformed by the love of God.

They do everything with excellence. They are trustworthy and accountable to God and one another. They live out the radical love of Christ unconditionally.
