Blaszko’s works were born from a desire to escape, a plan hatched in 1941. During a time of space exploration and utopian dreams, he envisioned art made of air and matter. His art was filled with hollows and voids, invented forms, and opposing forces. Blaszko saw public sculptures as a way to tame the human ego.
