The cornerstone whispers tales of faith. This is the Ehemalige Neuapostolische Kirche Bremen-Vegesack. It stands silent now a testament to a community’s devotion.

First services here began October 10 1928. A small congregation gathered for worship. Their faith was the foundation of this building. Their devotion built its walls. This wasn’t always the location. Early members met in various places. They moved several times before settling here. One address was Lange Strasse 18 in Bremen-Grohn.

The church grew steadily. By 1937 membership reached 110. World War II disrupted everything. Services were held in private homes sometimes. The faithful persevered. Their faith remained strong.

The post-war years saw a period of change. New congregations formed. Members branched out. New churches were built. The Ehemalige Neuapostolische Kirche Bremen-Vegesack experienced a period of transition. It wasn’t alone in this growth. Neighboring communities blossomed.

In 1972 Aumund and Vegesack reunited. They formed Bremen-Aumund-Vegesack. Their shared faith was their bond. A new church was built in 1978. It replaced an old dance hall on Theodor-Neutig-Strasse 17. The congregation worshipped temporarily in Blumenthal. Bezirksapostel Hermann Schumacher dedicated the new church. It was a significant moment. A celebration of faith and community.

Hirte Gerhard Post led the congregation for 22 years. His dedication shaped the community. His legacy is visible in this building. Dieter Post succeeded him. The name of the church reverted to Bremen-Vegesack in 1996. The building reflects its history. Each brick tells a story.

In 2008 the church closed its doors for the last time. The last service was held. The congregation merged with another. Their faith remains. The building stands as a reminder of their devotion. The Ehemalige Neuapostolische Kirche Bremen-Vegesack is a physical reminder of the power of faith. It is a testament to a community. Its history is woven into the very fabric of this place.
