“Is this the church that rose from the ashes of another?” someone might ask right here in front of the Église protestante évangélique des Ternes. While the current building dates back to the early 20th century, the church embodies a spirit of resilience and renewal. The Église protestante évangélique des Ternes joined the Baptist Association in 2013. It has become a beacon of faith in the 17th arrondissement. The church strives to be “a light in Paris” by fostering community connections, holding services welcoming to those unfamiliar with Christianity, and actively engaging in evangelization efforts. The church demonstrates its commitment to spreading the Gospel by training individuals for ministry. In fact, seventeen individuals have participated in their internship program since the church’s inception. Tragically, the church faced a profound loss in 2020 with the sudden passing of its founding pastor, Édouard Nelson. However, the Église protestante évangélique des Ternes stood strong, demonstrating the enduring power of faith and community. Today, the church thrives, guided by the enduring principles of the Bible and the power of prayer. They find strength and stability in their faith, even amidst the ever-changing landscape of Paris.
