Established in 1935 Edge Grove School stands proudly on 48 acres. Its history stretches far beyond its founding however. The main house dates back to 1733 when John Skey built the central block. His sons sold it in the late 1780s to Thomas Hake. Later John Pierpont Morgan an American financier acquired the property in 1912. He rented it to Richard Bennett who extensively renovated it for around 90000 pounds. Morgan’s estate later gifted the freehold to the council stipulating it be used as an independent school. This marked the birth of Edge Grove School as we know it today.
