“Incorporated in 1985” may not sound like a captivating start. Yet, the story of Eden Baptist Church is one of growth and unwavering faith. Back then, it was known as Burnsville Baptist Church.
Dr. Wendell Mullen, a professor at Pillsbury Bible College, laid the foundation. He gathered students and invited his son, Paul, to lead. These early days nurtured the church’s beginnings. The Mullens built a solid base for future growth.
After the Mullens returned to the East Coast, a new chapter began. The small assembly of 20 members called Dan Miller to be their pastor. He and his wife, Beth, accepted this calling in September 1989.
For several years, Eden Baptist Church rented facilities. Despite these challenges, the church grew both in numbers and in spirit. In 1996, a significant milestone was reached. The church purchased its first building in northeast Savage. With this new home came a new name. Burnsville Baptist Church became Eden Baptist Church. The ministry expanded alongside its growing congregation.
The story of Eden Baptist Church continues. In 2002, the church acquired four acres on Highway 13 in Burnsville. More land was purchased in 2009. This expansion culminated in a momentous occasion. On April 8, 2012, the church held its first worship service in its current building. This achievement was due to the sacrifice of its people.
Today, Eden Baptist Church thrives. It is a Bible-hungry, praying, giving, and missions-minded community. The church distinguishes itself through carefully prepared sermons. Doctrinally rich teaching and purposefully ordered worship are central to their gatherings.
A shepherding philosophy guides the pastoral ministry at Eden Baptist Church. Discipleship is emphasized. This emphasis has led to new believers joining the assembly and the edification of its members. The church dedicates itself to raising the next generation of Christ’s followers. A zeal to spread the gospel to all nations fuels its vibrancy.
