Opened in 1974, École primaire Georges Dortet has been educating Fontenay-lès-Briis’s children for 50 years. It’s a popular choice for local families, known for its good reputation and high demand. École primaire Georges Dortet serves children from preschool through CM2. The school covers the fundamental learning cycle (CP, CE1, CE2) and the consolidation cycle (CM1, CM2). It also houses preschool classes for the early learning cycle (petite section, moyenne section, and grande section). At the last school year start, École primaire Georges Dortet had 238 students across ten classes. This included 69 preschoolers and 169 elementary students. The breakdown was: CP (34 students), CE1 (34 students), CE2 (34 students), CM1 (33 students), and CM2 (44 students). The average class size is around 24 students. The school operates on a four-day schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. School hours are 8:30 am to 11:30 am and 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
