Düden Şelalesi

The Düzden Şelalesi originates from the Kepez Hydroelectric Power Plant. It travels through the Duden River, splitting into two distinct waterfalls. We’re currently standing at the Lower Duden Waterfall, where the water plunges 40 meters from the cliffs into the Mediterranean Sea. The other branch, known as the Upper Duden Waterfall or Karpuzkaldıran Waterfall, is located further inland. Alexander the Great, during his conquest of Pamphylia around 334-333 BC, supposedly watered his horses in the Upper Duden Waterfall area. This area surrounding the Upper Duden Waterfall was transformed into a picnic and recreation area between 1970 and 1972. The Lower Düzden Şelalesi, however, offers a unique spectacle.
