Downtown Cornerstone Church

Tucked away in the bustling heart of Seattle, Downtown Cornerstone Church isn’t just a building. It’s a story. A story of faith, resilience, and a deep love for Jesus. Downtown Cornerstone Church started its journey in a humble underground room in Pioneer Square in 2011. From these modest beginnings, the church community grew, requiring several relocations within downtown Seattle. Downtown Cornerstone Church’s vision is to share the love of Jesus with the city, from its bustling avenues to its quiet alleyways. This vision propelled a small group to start praying for a new church in downtown Seattle. A church that would be rooted in the gospel, grounded in the Bible, and focused on Jesus. In the spring of 2010, this dream began to take shape. A launch community was gathered. The church’s vision, mission, and values were defined. The community prayed, served, and spread the gospel. Many people moved downtown to be a part of this growing movement. On April 3, 2011, Downtown Cornerstone Church officially launched in the heart of downtown Seattle. From 2015 to 2025, Downtown Cornerstone Church called 2333 Western Ave home. This former nightclub, situated at the corner of Western and Battery in Belltown, became a place of transformation. Within these walls, countless stories of faith unfolded. Hundreds of members were welcomed and sent forth. The echoes of over 500 sermons resonated, each one exalting Jesus. Children learned about Jesus in the basement. People found solace and support in times of grief, sin, and tragedy. The space was also a witness to hardship. The church became a refuge for those displaced by the implosion of a local mega-church. They faced the challenges of a pandemic, political unrest, and social upheaval. Through it all, Downtown Cornerstone Church emerged stronger, more mature, and deeply rooted in faith. Downtown Cornerstone Church now resides at 2816 1st Ave, a new and permanent home. This building represents another chapter in the church’s ongoing story. It’s a stage for God’s unfolding drama of redemption, not just in Seattle, but through Seattle to the nations.
