Closed in 2024, Dollis Primary School whispers tales of generations past. Located on Pursley Road in Mill Hill, this community school once bustled with the energy of 425 pupils aged 2 to 11. Dollis Primary School served the Mill Hill community for many years. An Ofsted inspection in September 2023 rated the school “Good” in all areas. This included quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership, management, and early years provision. Imagine the halls and five playgrounds filled with laughter. Think of the music echoing from classrooms. In 2024, 75% of pupils achieved the expected standard in Reading and Writing. 80% met the expected standard for Maths. Dollis Primary School’s story reflects the changing landscape of education in London. The school joined Bellevue Place Education Trust in September 2024. Sadly, this also marked its closure as a stand-alone institution. Mrs. Rosetta Dyer, the headteacher, led the school until its closure. She and her team worked diligently to provide a nurturing environment. Approximately 30% of the pupils were eligible for free school meals. This suggests Dollis Primary School served a diverse socio-economic community. The school had a capacity of 492 pupils. But the number of students decreased to 425 before it closed. The dedicated staff, including deputy headteachers Mrs. Anouska Sehmi and Mr. Steve Lee, surely made a difference in many young lives. Dollis Primary School’s legacy lives on through the memories of its students and staff. It stands as a testament to the important role community schools play.
