Craft beer revolution! It’s what Susana Cascais and Scott Steffens ignited right here in Lisbon. Their passion led to the birth of Dois Corvos Brewery. It happened back in 2013 when craft beer was scarce.
Dois Corvos hit the market in 2015. Their mission was simple. They wanted to create honest and genuine beer. Independence, innovation and quality were their priorities. This independent brewery helped develop a fun-loving community. These people and brands wanted to elevate craft beer locally and internationally.
The name Dois Corvos means two ravens. It was inspired by Lisbon’s coat of arms. The Dois Corvos logo also reflects this inspiration.
Dois Corvos constantly explores off the beaten path. They bring you new styles. They use new techniques and recipes. They create new approaches and experiences. The brewery takes pride in learning, teaching, and growing. They want to show everyone that beer is ever-evolving. Beer is flavorful. It is far from obvious.
Now, let’s talk about the beers themselves. Dois Corvos boasts dozens of styles. You can find crispy lagers. You can find hop-forward IPAs. They have dark brews like stouts and barleywines. There are wild ales and sours too. These are often flavored with fruits and spices.
Dois Corvos also excels in barrel-aged beers. Their barrel program is impressive. They use roughly 350 oak barrels. These come from different wines, rum, and whiskey. They even aged beers in a 120-year-old amphora wine vessel.
In 2022 alone, Dois Corvos launched 48 new beers. That is almost one per week. Their core series includes award-winning brews. Creature IPA. Avenida Blonde Ale. Finisterra Imperial Porter are constantly available. They also brew seasonal beers. They have special launches. You can also taste more experimental brews. Dois Corvos also collaborates with domestic and international breweries.
The best place to taste craft beer is as close to the brewery as possible. Dois Corvos turned its original brewery into a large taproom restaurant. It has 17 taps of fresh brews. They serve food. You can enjoy events and music. In April 2023, they opened a new taproom pub. It is called Dois Corvos Intendente. It is right in the city center. It has 12 taps. They serve seafood-inspired pub food plus burgers and veggie options.
