DePaul College Prep has a rich history. It began in 1952 as Gordon Tech High School. It later partnered with DePaul University. This partnership led to a name change in 2014. The school became DePaul College Prep. This marked a new era of academic excellence.
In 2019 DePaul College Prep experienced remarkable growth. Enrollment soared. The school needed more space. The Board of Directors acquired a new 17-acre campus. This beautiful campus is where we stand now. Imagine the excitement of moving into these state-of-the-art buildings in 2020. The new campus boasts a 178000 square-foot academic center. This center includes 62 classrooms. It also includes two dining halls four maker spaces and ten science labs. There’s even a Black Box Theater a strength training room a library and a chapel. Students enjoy two student gathering spaces. Outside you’ll find an organic garden a greenhouse and athletic fields.
DePaul College Prep is more than just a school. It’s a vibrant community. It’s a place where students excel academically. They also participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities and athletics. The school offers over 45 co-curriculars clubs and academic teams. More than 80% of students participate. The school embraces the Vincentian charism. It encourages service to those in need. Students contribute thousands of hours of service annually.
DePaul College Prep offers a diverse range of academic programs. Students can choose from College Prep Honors Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate classes. It’s the only co-ed Catholic high school in Chicago to offer the IB Program. Thanks to its partnership with DePaul University students can take dual enrollment classes.
