Dearborn Station has been a Chicago icon since 1885. This grand Romanesque Revival structure witnessed the golden age of rail travel. Imagine lines of gleaming locomotives. Picture passengers from all walks of life, clutching tickets to destinations unknown. The Santa Fe, the Monon, the Wabash – all legendary names – rumbled through Dearborn Station, carrying dreams and aspirations across the nation. Sadly, the era of grand passenger trains faded. Dearborn Station saw its last train depart on May 1, 1971. The once-bustling platforms fell silent. But Dearborn Station is a survivor. Today, it stands revitalized as a vibrant commercial center.
