Established in 1978 Darul Hadis Latifiah has a rich history. It began as Madrasah-e-Darul Qirat Majidiah. Classes were initially held in a rented space on New Road. Local community leaders raised funds through private donations. They purchased a building at 46-48 Cannon Street Road in 1981. The school offered Bengali and Qur’anic classes to over 200 students. The classes were held in the evenings and on weekends.
In 1998 the institution was renamed Darul Hadis Latifiah. It became a secondary school and college. Students received a full secondary education. They also studied Islamic Studies Bengali and Urdu. The school moved to its current location at 1 Cornwall Avenue in 2005. Today Darul Hadis Latifiah continues to serve its community. It provides a comprehensive education.
