“Dada takes care of me,” a small voice echoed through the solemn gathering. Today, we stand before the Dallas Circle of Heroes, a poignant memorial that whispers stories of courage and sacrifice. The Dallas Circle of Heroes isn’t just a collection of stones; it’s a testament to the five brave souls who fell in the line of duty on that fateful day in July 2016. Five stones, each bearing a bronze plaque, stand tall, a solemn reminder of their sacrifice. DART Officer Brent Thompson, Dallas officers Patrick Zamarripa, Michael Krol, Sgt. Michael Smith, and Cpl. Lorne Ahrens, their names etched in our hearts and on these memorials. The Circle of Heroes, nestled along the Trinity Strand Trail, offers a place of quiet reflection for families, friends, and a grateful city. This space, born from the generosity of private donors, speaks volumes about the community’s love and support for their protectors. The Dallas Circle of Heroes stands as a beacon of remembrance, a symbol of the enduring bond within law enforcement, and a reminder of the sacrifices made to keep our city safe.
