Did Kirsten Anderson ever imagine her passion for art and animals would intertwine so beautifully? Here at Creatura House Gallery on Capitol Hill, her vision has come to life. Creatura House Gallery isn’t just a gallery. It’s a whimsical menagerie of art and decor, a testament to the beauty of the natural world. The gallery opened in 2017 at 705 East Pike Street. Anderson, the creative force behind the beloved Roq La Rue gallery, sought a new venture after its closure. She envisioned a space where art and her deep love for animals could coexist. Creatura House Gallery became that sanctuary. The gallery space features rotating exhibitions. The shop offers an eclectic mix of art and design. You’ll find sculptural lamps, animal-friendly textiles, and even a life-sized, rhinestone-encrusted cougar by artist Justin Beckman. One of the gallery’s earliest exhibitions, “Le Carnaval des Animaux,” showcased a captivating collection of animal-themed drawings and paintings. Creatura House Gallery also has a philanthropic heart. A portion of the proceeds supports Creatura Wildlife Projects, Anderson’s non-profit dedicated to protecting endangered animals in Africa. This gallery seamlessly merges Anderson’s two passions. It shelters art and animals under one roof. Every piece within Creatura House Gallery relates to the natural world in an artistic way, creating a truly unique experience.
