This, ladies and gentlemen, is Craigmillar Park Church, a prominent place of worship in the Newington area of Edinburgh. It might surprise you, but this church had a slightly unusual history before its current state. It originally served as a congregation under the Church of Scotland until 2024. Then, in 1966, the church was the result of a union between two congregations: the former Craigmillar Park and Mayfield South. This was a time of change, with the Mayfield South building eventually adopted the name of its partner. The original Craigmillar Park church, once a Free Church congregation, was transformed into Buchanan House, part of St. Margaret’s School. In 2010, it became the Iqra Academy, known as a mosque, a testament to the building’s dynamic history.
