Peter Hanig, a Chicago businessman, created the cow as a tribute to the “Cows on Parade” exhibit, a citywide public art extravaganza that took place in 1999, where artists decorated fiberglass cows and placed them all over Chicago. Measuring eight feet long, four and a half feet tall, and weighing in at a hefty 2,500 pounds, it’s a real beefy presence.
