To reach Coveta al costat del penya-segat by car you have two options. First take the Ma-1041. This is the Establiments-Calvià road. Then turn off at Km 8.500 onto the Ma-1016. After passing the Son Camps estate at Km 9.270 look left. You will see the track to Serra de Son Camps. It passes Sa Coma Bella Puig Gros and Rota de Son Camps. Or from Palma use the Son Vida urbanization. Drive up to the top of Albercux street. Park there. Take the path up to the track at Puig de n’sa Coma Fosca.

The wall you see marks the boundary between Palma and Calvià. It separates Son Vida from Son Camps.

To approach Coveta al costat del penya-segat on foot go to the top of Albercux street. You will find a barrier that prohibits passage. Access to the Son Camps track is possible a hundred meters below. Look for the only undeveloped plot. You will see steps carved into the rock.

Follow these to the left. At the crossing turn right downhill. You will reach a fork in the path. Here you will see a lime kiln. From here take the ascending path. Go across country for about 60 meters. You will find the cave under pine trees felled by the last blizzard.

The walk takes about 20 minutes. The distance is 871 meters.

The main chamber of Coveta al costat del penya-segat measures 12 by 8 meters. Its height varies from 1 to 2.87 meters. It faces east to west. A branch extends about 8.5 meters long one meter wide and 1.30 meters high. The floor is almost flat. Some stones and a thick root lie on one wall. The main chamber has two entrances. They are almost blocked. One is blocked by rocks. The other is blocked by large pine trees.

A third entrance is located to the west. It’s a couple of meters higher up. This is a rectangular chamber without anything remarkable. Except for a tiny passage blocked by stones. This connects to the main chamber.
