Wasn’t it just 1981? The air crackled with anticipation. Cornerstone Apostolic Word Church wasn’t yet a building. It was a dream. A dream held in the hearts of 108 souls gathered at Singing Hills Funeral Home. They listened intently as Dr Robert H Wilson Sr delivered his sermon “Timely Orders for a Young Church”. This wasn’t just any sermon. It was the cornerstone of their new faith community.

Cornerstone Apostolic Word Church in Dallas was born. It began humbly but with a powerful spirit. Pastor Wilson’s vision was clear. He immediately established a building fund. The congregation responded generously. Within a year they had raised an astonishing $100000. This was a testament to their faith and collective effort.

The groundbreaking ceremony on February 13 1983 marked a pivotal moment. It was more than just laying bricks and mortar. It represented a leap of faith. A step towards realizing a shared vision. Construction was completed in September 1984. The first service in their new building on September 30th was a joyous occasion. It was a powerful testament to the transformative power of faith.

Pastor Wilson’s legacy extended for 25 years. He retired in 2006. He passed away in 2011. Cornerstone Apostolic Word Church continues to honor his memory.

The church faced challenges. There were periods of change and transition. Dr Craig E White Sr led the congregation for a time. Then came the arrival of Rev Harvey B Miller Jr in 2014. His leadership breathed new life into the church. He emphasized the importance of growth and adaptation. He reminded them that “if we are not changing then we are dying”. This call to embrace change helped guide Cornerstone Apostolic Word Church into a new era.
