Established August 2 1846 the Corinth Presbyterian Church Plaque tells a rich story. This plaque commemorates a congregation deeply rooted in Collin County Texas. It stands as a testament to faith resilience and community.

Pioneer settler C A McMillen founded the Corinth Society Church. The church’s charter members included prominent families like the Murphys Wilkinses and Maxwells. It served as both a Presbyterian church and a community center. Early meetings took place in a schoolhouse and later in homes.

After the Civil War services moved to the McMillen home then to the Wilkins schoolhouse. Eventually the congregation built its first church building. This building was located at the corner of Grey Lane and Gregory Lane. A significant milestone arrived in the early 1920s. Mr and Mrs C C Gregory donated over two acres on Parker Road.

A new sanctuary was constructed in 1923. Its dedication was celebrated with a full day of festivities. The church building underwent refurbishment in the 1980s. A bell steeple was added enhancing its appearance. Even today Corinth Presbyterian Church remains a vital part of the Parker community. It actively participates in community events and supports various outreach programs.

For over 150 years Corinth Presbyterian Church has served its members. Its enduring presence speaks volumes about its commitment to faith and its impact on the community. The plaque isn’t just a marker. It’s a symbol of steadfast faith perseverance and enduring community spirit. It reflects the lives and legacies of generations who built this congregation. The Corinth Presbyterian Church Plaque is more than just bronze and aluminum. It’s a living testament to the enduring spirit of faith in the heart of Texas.
