On the first of January 2013, something significant happened here in the heart of the Vexin Français. The Communauté de communes Vexin Centre, often shortened to CCVC, was born. This wasn’t just a simple change of name or a bureaucratic merger. It was a union of purpose, a coming together of three communities. The Communauté de Communes Val de Viosne, 3 Vallées du Vexin, and Plateau du Vexin decided to pool their resources and expertise. They realised that by working together, they could achieve so much more for their residents. Imagine, 34 communes spread over 234 square kilometers, all working in unison. The CCVC became a powerhouse of collaboration, serving nearly 24,000 people across the region. It’s remarkable to think that nearly a fifth of the Val d’Oise falls under the umbrella of the Communauté de communes Vexin Centre. This innovative approach allows the CCVC to manage a range of activities and public services far more efficiently. From transportation and economic development to early childhood education and social actions, the CCVC touches the lives of its residents in countless ways. It’s a testament to the power of unity and a beacon of progress in the French countryside.
