This union, finalized on January 1st, 2024, created a new Commeny. Commeny is more than just a recent addition to the map. The newly established parish of Commeny is building its spiritual heart, the Church of Saint-Martin. The Gothic style is in its prime, and the church rises, stone by stone, a testament to the faith and craftsmanship of the Commenois. Over the next century, the church reaches its full glory, a symphony of soaring arches and delicate tracery. But time, as always, brings change. War ravages the land. The Hundred Years’ War leaves its scars, and Saint-Martin bears the brunt. Yet, from the ashes rises a new beauty. The early 16th century brings a wave of reconstruction.
