He championed fair play, leaving an enduring mark on the sport. Santana also achieved great success at the club level, especially with Su00e3o Paulo FC in the early 1990s. This era, under Santana’s leadership, saw the club win numerous titles, including two Copa Libertadores and two Intercontinental Cups. These victories solidified Su00e3o Paulo’s place among the world’s elite clubs. After a stroke in 1996, Santana retired. He passed away in 2006. He was buried at the Cemitu00e9rio Parque da Colina, right here on this hill.
