It cost only 25 cents for a round trip.
The Cog Hill Golf & Country Club continued to grow. More land was acquired. New courses were built. Course #2 opened in 1929. Remarkably this was just days before the Wall Street Crash. Despite the hardships of the Great Depression Cog Hill thrived. Joe Jemsek bought Cog Hill in 1951. He added Course #3 in 1963 and the renowned Dubsdread in 1964.
Dubsdread. This is Cog Hill’s crown jewel. It’s a championship course. It has hosted major tournaments. The Western Open was held there 16 times. The BMW Championship also graced its greens. Tiger Woods. He holds the course record. He shot a remarkable 9-under 62. Woods won five tournaments at Cog Hill. He is just one of many golfing greats who have tested their skills here.
