How about a story about a dream that came true? Back in 1910 three friends had a dream. They wanted to revive the deteriorated port of San Isidro. They also wanted to create a club for nautical enthusiasts. And so, Club Náutico San Isidro was born.

Club Náutico San Isidro had two main goals. These were social connection and sports. The geography strongly influenced its founding sports. These were sailing and swimming. These sports were closely tied to the social aspect of the club.

From the start family was a priority. Club leaders always wanted to bring families together. They saw the family as the basic unit of society. The Club Náutico San Isidro was innovative. It welcomed women as members which was unusual at the time. Most clubs were only for men.

Tennis was added in 1918. The club started with two courts. It now has 18 tennis courts. Fourteen are on Sarandí Island. Four are on Nazar Anchorena Island.

The spirit of Club Náutico San Isidro isn’t in its buildings. It is in how those buildings support its values. It is especially about fulfilling the expectations of its members. Many members achieved world titles and Olympic medals. They did so with the initial support of the Club Náutico San Isidro. They represented Argentina with honor.

Club Náutico San Isidro has hosted many national and international sports events. These events have enhanced the club’s prestige. They put the institution at the forefront of various sports. The club is known for its organization of international yachting and tennis competitions.

The Club Náutico San Isidro has changed a lot. It started with one sloop in 1914. Now it has a whole fleet of boats. The early muddy grounds are now a golf course and tennis courts. Swimming pools replaced the polluted river. The first social headquarters was a simple wooden house. Now it’s a modern building.

The founders’ spirit lives on. Today 15000 members value what Club Náutico San Isidro is. The club wants to keep those founding values alive. Those values gave full life to this institution. When Che Guevara was a boy his parents were members. They regularly brought him to swim at the club’s beaches.

Today Club Náutico San Isidro offers many facilities. Its docking facilities are very popular. Members can purchase docking spaces for their boats. The club also has clay tennis courts. Other facilities include football squash and volleyball courts. Gymnastics facilities beaches and an 18-hole golf course are also available. You can find the Club Náutico San Isidro at Isla Sarandí.
