Founded on January 12 1945 the Club Asociacion de Fomento Amigos de la ciudad jardin Lomas del Palomar A.F.A.L.P began as a Sociedad de Fomento. It addressed the community’s needs. The club played a vital role.
Initially the Asociacion actively helped create schools kindergartens libraries and volunteer fire departments. It also assisted with first aid stations banks and the local police station. The club focused on urban improvements. It worked tirelessly to enhance Ciudad Jardin’s landscape.
The club’s location mirrored the town’s growth. It oversaw public lighting pavement improvements and waste collection. It even built a road and bridge to Palomar Station. A shelter and new ticket office were added there.
The institution grew from a humble wooden shack to a spacious chalet. A 3-hectare sports complex soon followed. It’s located just blocks from the main clubhouse. Children from local schools use it daily.
Today the Club Asociacion de Fomento Amigos de la ciudad jardin Lomas del Palomar boasts impressive sporting facilities. It has teams competing in major metropolitan tournaments for football handball volleyball and basketball. Its swimming pool offers classes. A summer swimming program is available for members and non-members. Baseball and softball are also played. There’s a sports orientation school skating and taekwondo. The well-equipped gym hosts various activities.
A highlight is the new 11-a-side synthetic turf football pitch. It occupies the former excavator site. This project was a long-held dream for the club. It finally came true last June. The Club Asociacion de Fomento Amigos de la ciudad jardin Lomas del Palomar continues to thrive. It serves as a vibrant heart of the community. It’s a testament to the dedication of its members. It represents the enduring spirit of Ciudad Jardin.
