Clementi Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in the heart of Clementi, Singapore. It officially opened its doors to the public on April 1, 1983. Managed by Sport Singapore, the stadium boasts a seating capacity of 4,000. This makes it a significant landmark in the local sporting scene. Clementi Stadium has a rich history. It served as the home ground for several prominent football clubs. Tanjong Pagar United FC and Home United FC both called this stadium home. Even Tampines Rovers FC used Clementi Stadium as their temporary home ground between 2012 and 2014 while their usual stadium was under construction. Beyond football, Clementi Stadium has also hosted other events. The Reform Party held rallies here prior to the 2011 Singaporean general election. This demonstrates the stadium’s versatility as a venue. Today, while professional teams may have moved on, the spirit of sport lives on. The stadium’s running track is open to the public. From 4:30 am to 9:30 pm, people can be seen jogging around the 8-lane track. The stadium also houses a football pitch, a fitness corner, and partial athletic facilities. Every Thursday, the field is closed for maintenance. The running track, however, remains open. So even today, Clementi Stadium continues to serve the community. It offers a place for people to pursue an active lifestyle.
