Tucked away in the vibrant tapestry of Quezon City, the Claret School of Quezon City stands as a testament to faith and education. The story of Claret School of Quezon City begins not within these walls, but on the distant shores of Spain. In 1849, Saint Anthony Mary Claret, a devoted servant of the word, founded the Congregation of the Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. His vision extended beyond the borders of his homeland, reaching the Philippines in 1946. The Claretian missionaries, identified by the initials CMF, first established their presence in the Santa Barbara Parish of Pangasinan. But their dream of a central hub for their Philippine missions led them to Quezon City. In the late 1960s, Fr. José Querexeta, a former bishop, secured the land where Claret School of Quezon City now stands. Imagine the bustling activity as Fr. Miguel Mialet oversaw the construction of the first buildings, named after the founding Claretians, Fathers Xifré and Clotet. In June 1967, Claret School of Quezon City opened its doors, initially as a boys’ elementary school under the leadership of Fr. Santiago González. The school quickly flourished, expanding to include an intermediate grade school in 1968 and a high school in 1972. Over the years, Claret School of Quezon City has seen numerous expansions and renovations. The campus grew to encompass five main buildings, including those named after Fathers Sala, Vilaró, and Fábregas. A Child Study Center and a Sports Center were later added, further enriching the educational opportunities for students. The school’s coat of arms reflects the deep-rooted Claretian values. The deep blue and radiant red halves symbolize the origins of St. Anthony Mary Claret and his spiritual birth. The sun and moon represent his parents, while also symbolizing Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary, reflecting Claret’s deep love for them both. The heart, fire, roses, and sword in the red half represent the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The three lilies honor St. Anthony de Padua, St. Louis Gonzaga, and St. Dominic de Guzman, embodying purity and devotion. At the base of the arms lies the school’s motto, “Scientia Maxime Cum Virtute,” meaning “Knowledge is best with virtue.” Claret School of Quezon City remains committed to this principle, nurturing students to excel academically while upholding strong Christian values. The school has earned numerous accreditations and awards, a testament to its dedication to quality education. From its humble beginnings, Claret School of Quezon City has become a cornerstone of the Quezon City community, shaping generations of young minds and continuing the legacy of St. Anthony Mary Claret.
