Ciudad Deportiva Los Céspedes is located twelve kilometers from Montevideo’s center. It was acquired in 1968 under Don Miguel Restuccia’s presidency. The name honors the Céspedes family. They were club symbols in its early years.

In 2015, Los Céspedes inaugurated Uruguay’s first FIFA-certified synthetic turf pitch. This pitch is mainly for the development divisions. It meets FIFA’s highest quality standards. This shows the club’s commitment to nurturing young talent.
Ciudad Deportiva Los Céspedes boasts more than just pitches. A modern gymnasium houses cutting-edge equipment. It includes functional and rehabilitation sectors. Francisco Maronna, head of the works commission, proudly declared that the gym is among South America’s top ten for high-performance athletes. The gym features high-tech flooring imported from the United States. Its panoramic windows connect the players to the field.
Back in 1968, Miguel Restuccia recognized the need for a dedicated training facility. Before Los Céspedes, the team had to concentrate in hotels. This wasn’t ideal. Restuccia sought a better environment. He found it in a rejected offer. It was a property with a chalet, dining area, and even a bowling alley. It also had two football pitches and a basketball court.
The members authorized the purchase of the land for $13,900,000. The inauguration took place on September 14, 1968. The complex immediately saved the club money. It consolidated the club’s institutional structure.
Antonio Pintos became the first groundskeeper of Los Céspedes. Even though the team still stayed in a hotel before matches, all preparation now took place here.
