What began in a humble storefront has blossomed into a beacon of hope in the Austin community. You are standing in front of Circle Urban Ministries. It’s much more than just a building. Circle Urban Ministries has been a beacon of hope and support for over four decades. In the 1970s, Austin faced significant challenges as demographic shifts led to economic decline and social issues. However, a group of individuals from Circle Church Free Church stepped up. They felt a calling to make a difference. This led to the birth of Circle Urban Ministries, initially known as Circle Community Center.
Their first endeavor was a drop-in youth center, quickly followed by a counseling center, a legal clinic, and even a medical clinic. They addressed the community’s needs head-on. The partnership with Rock of Our Salvation Evangelical Free Church in 1983 marked a turning point. This partnership allowed Circle Urban Ministries to expand its reach and impact.
Today, Circle Urban Ministries continues to serve the Austin community with unwavering dedication. They offer programs that tackle poverty, hunger, education, and addiction, embodying their belief in nurturing the whole person. What began as a small act of faith has touched the lives of thousands. Circle Urban Ministries stands as a testament to the power of compassion and community. It reminds us that even in the face of adversity, hope can flourish and inspire lasting change.
