For example, Françoise, wife of the French Revolution-era politician Boissy d’Anglas, rests beneath a simple, unassuming slab. She lived to the impressive age of 94, passing away in 1850. Nearby, the tomb of Dr. Duborgia, a former mayor of Bougival, stands as a testament to his service to the community. The tomb takes the form of a tall stele, crowned with his bust, a work by the sculptor Capellaro. Cimetière de Bougival also houses the final resting places of several notable figures. Paul Avenel, the writer, poet, and journalist, rests here. His brother, historian Georges Avenel, also lies within these grounds. The cemetery also holds the remains of actor Guillaume Depardieu.
