Yet, Čibača persevered, its people resilient in the face of adversity. Fast forward to the Croatian War of Independence in 1991. Čibača was occupied, plundered, and tragically burned. The villagers sought refuge in nearby Dubrovnik. They returned in the spring of 1992, determined to rebuild their lives and their beloved Čibača.
