In 1986, the Church of God planted its roots in London. This wasn’t just a building. It was a beacon of faith for believers following the Holy Bible. The Church of God aimed to grow worldwide, sharing God’s message. Their mission was clear: bring salvation and unite Christian immigrants. The Church of God sought to foster understanding of God’s will. They aimed to build a church upholding God’s teachings. The Church of God’s story began with a few Hong Kong brothers and sisters. They arrived in the UK between 1985 and 1986 to study. Alongside preachers and Hong Kong sisters working in Northern Ireland, they established the Church of God in London. Their initial outreach focused on a group of young Vietnamese. These young people showed sincere hearts towards God. They faced disapproval and persecution, some even being thrown out of their homes. Yet, their determination to follow Jesus remained unshaken. These individuals became pivotal pillars in the London church. The Church of God welcomed Christians from Hong Kong, who joined congregations in various UK cities. Many of these individuals had accepted the gospel through the Church of God in Hong Kong. They embraced the opportunity to take root, grow, and bear fruit in a new land. Brother Daniel Yu, once a nurse, answered God’s call and dedicated his life to preaching. He left behind a stable career to share God’s word. His mission was to glorify God, revive the church, and bring people to Christ, even if it meant a path of suffering. The Church of God continues to serve as a spiritual home. It is a place for worship and learning.
