The Church of God traces its origins back to the Iglesia ng Dios kay Cristo Jesus, Haligi at Suhay ng Katotohanan, led by Nicolas Antiporda Perez. After Perez’s death in 1975, Eli Soriano emerged as a key figure, leading a group of members who believed the original church’s teachings had strayed. This pivotal moment led to the establishment of the Mga Kaanib sa Iglesia ng Dios kay Kristo Hesus Haligi at Saligan ng Katotohanan, later evolving into the Members Church of God International.
