In 1997, a divine message echoed in a quiet stairwell. Rev. Earnie Pirkle, attending a church conference, felt a calling to plant a church in the Godley Station area. This divine inspiration marked the beginning of the Church At Godley Station. The Church At Godley Station’s journey started not in a grand sanctuary, but in the conference room of a Red Roof Inn at I-95 and Pooler Parkway. Their first service took place there on November 19, 2000. Later, the Church At Godley Station found a temporary home at the Seventh Day Adventist property. They held their first service there on July 26, 2001. The Church At Godley Station continued to grow. In April 2008, the congregation voted to become an independent church. This decision received full support from Bull Street Baptist Church, a key partner in their journey. Bull Street Baptist Church generously donated 25 acres of land in Godley Station. This paved the way for the Church At Godley Station to build its own sanctuary. Ground was broken on September 21, 2008. The Church At Godley Station celebrated its first service in the new building on December 20, 2009. The building was officially dedicated a month later, on January 24, 2010. The story of the Church At Godley Station continues to unfold. In 2014, Rev. Pirkle retired, and Dr. Darren W. Thomas became the new Senior Pastor. The church has continued to expand its facilities to accommodate its growing congregation, a testament to the vision that began in a quiet stairwell.
