A haven of community stands before you. This is the Christuskirche Durlach-Aue. Its story begins not in grand architectural plans but in a simpler structure. In 1956 a New Apostolic Church community hall rose here. It served the community for many years. Then in 1996 an expansion project breathed new life into the building. Six years later the building found a new purpose. The Evangelical Methodist community of Aue purchased the building.

The Christuskirche Durlach-Aue became more than just a church. Around 2014 it played a significant role. The Methodist churches of Aue Friedenskirche and Wolfartsweier merged. The Christuskirche became the heart of the united Durlach & Aue congregation in 2015. A partnership then formed with the Christuskirche in Grünwettersbach. Pastors Elisabeth Kurz and Gottfried Liese served both communities.

The Christuskirche Durlach-Aue isn’t static. It’s a church that adapts and grows. In March 2018 the original building was demolished. A new construction began in September of the same year. This new building reflects the vibrant community spirit it houses. The church continues its mission of outreach and fellowship. Pastorin Boglárka Mitschele now leads the congregation.

Today the Christuskirche Durlach-Aue is a place of worship. It’s also a community hub. The Cafe Grüne Aue is a welcoming space. It provides coffee tea and homemade cakes. This is a testament to the church’s commitment to its community. The cafe operates on donations. It truly embraces the spirit of sharing and togetherness. The church offers a multitude of programs. These range from children’s activities to senior events and everything in between.

The Christuskirche Durlach-Aue is more than bricks and mortar. It represents faith community and the enduring spirit of Karlsruhe. It is a place where people gather to worship support one another and connect. This church stands as a symbol of resilience adaptability and the power of shared faith. It’s a space of belonging and a beacon of hope within the city. So let the story of this church inspire you. Let it remind you of the importance of community.
