In recent years, Christ’s Community Church sought to deepen its community impact. The members listened to their neighbors. They explored ways to share God’s love. They discovered KidPack. KidPack is a program addressing food insufficiency among local children. It provides weekend food bags.
Christ’s Community partnered with Park Brook Elementary School. Together they provide 330 bags of food each month. Initially, funding seemed impossible. The church needed 6000 dollars per year for three years. The members prayerfully considered their resources. They shifted their perspective. “Is God calling us to this ministry?” they asked. The answer was a resounding yes. They trusted God to provide.
A friend of the pastor unexpectedly donated 6000 dollars. This covered the first year’s food costs. Later, the Larger Life Foundation granted another 6000 dollars. The congregation also contributed 1500 dollars in a special offering. Additional gifts brought the total to two-and-a-third years of funding.
