“A massive flood, you say?” Right here, before the unassuming facade of Christian Fellowship Church, imagine the year 1987. The area is submerged, the church basement filled with eight feet of water. It’s a disaster, a blow to this community founded in 1973 as Evangelical Fellowship Chapel. But as the congregation gathers, helping to salvage what they can, a bible floats by. Opening it, they find Haggai 2:1-9. “The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former…And in this place I will give peace.” This message resonates deeply, becoming a beacon of hope. It guides them through the flood’s aftermath, and foreshadows changes to come. In 1995, seeking clarity for their community, the name changes to Christian Fellowship Church. The church continues to thrive, reaching its 50th anniversary in 2023. It stands as a testament to the enduring power of faith, community, and the belief in a future brighter than any storm.
