Cherubim and Seraphim Church

You might be surprised to learn that the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, a vibrant Pentecostal Christian organization, has its roots in Nigeria. Founded in 1925 by Saint Orimolade Tunolase, an Itinerant Evangelist who believed in the power of prayer, the church was a force for positive change. Orimolade’s mission was to turn people away from idol worship and towards the worship of the true God. The Cherubim and Seraphim Church spread like wildfire, and today it is one of the few successful exports from Nigeria to the UK and Ireland, with about 10 million members worldwide. The Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Copeland Park is just one of many in London and the UK. The church is full of colour and tradition, with members required to wear prayer robes during worship and a special weekly service dedicated to “Mid-week Full Service.” There are also special ceremonies and anniversaries such as the special “Holy Michael’s Anniversary” which is observed every year on September 29th. This day is used to thank God for the victories that he grants them as Holy Michael fights the battles of the faithful. There are also special days dedicated to Holy Gabriel and to the “Cherubim and Seraphim Band,” with special dresses worn for these services.
