Château de Villiers-le-Bâcle

The Chateau was built in the 17th Century on the ruins of an earlier structure called the Hotel de Presles. Its original owner, Michel Lucas, was close to Louis XIII – what a story that would be to hear! At the start of the 19th Century, the Biver family took on the task of restoring the Chateau. The Biver’s had a fascination with documenting their life in Villiers-le-Bacle, which they accomplished through a collection of photographs, a treasure trove that was discovered, almost by accident, in 2013. Though the Chateau is now privately owned, it has been used for numerous films and television series, including “Ridicule” and the French comedy series “Nicols le Floch”.
