“A grand old house, wouldn’t you say?” whispered a woman, adjusting her bonnet. Château de Gerland stands as a testament to Lyon’s growth. They established a social work program, the Maison des filles mères, within its walls. Today, the ISARA, an agricultural engineering school, occupies this historic building. Near the city garden, the grounds of Château de Gerland include a park. An attempt to open it to the public was unsuccessful. Still, the building’s presence adds to the charm of this evolving district.
