“A place for everyone,” the inscription reads above the door. We stand before the Chaplaincy, a haven for students and staff of all faiths and even those with none. The Chaplaincy at the University of Edinburgh is more than just a place of worship. It’s a source of support, offering everything from pastoral care to mindfulness sessions. The heart of the Chaplaincy lies at 1 Bristo Square. Inside, the Chaplaincy Centre Chapel hosts services, including Holy Eucharist on Wednesdays at 1:10 pm. But even outside these formal gatherings, the Chaplaincy thrives as a community space. Students find solace in yoga drop-ins, discover peace in free mindfulness sessions, and seek guidance from the University Listening Service. Here, within these walls, the Chaplaincy offers a quiet refuge from the bustling energy of university life. It’s a reminder that amidst the academic pursuits, there’s always space for reflection, connection, and support.
