Founded 40 years ago the Cercle d’Études Historiques et Archéologiques de Poissy & Carrières-sous-Poissy or CEHA began with passion. This passion belonged to its creators. CEHA’s focus evolved. It grew to include all aspects of Poissy’s history. This includes genealogy cartophilie local history and even automobile history.

Here at 8 Enclos de l’Abbaye we find the Cercle d’Études Historiques et Archéologiques de Poissy. It is an association. It operates under the law of 1901. CEHA has set primary goals. It organizes and promotes historical and archaeological studies. These studies focus on Poissy and Carrières-sous-Poissy. The association collaborates. It helps protect sites monuments and vestiges of the past. These are in our cities.

CEHA organizes informative meetings. They hold conferences and guided tours. This sparks an interest in the past. The target audience is young people. They want to instill respect for history. CEHA also animates and participates in exhibitions. They publish books. A semiannual journal covers local history.

Since its creation in 1970 the Cercle d’Études Historiques et Archéologiques de Poissy has pursued several aims. They foster study of the town’s past. It extends to the surrounding region. CEHA safeguards sites and monuments. They deem them worthy of conservation. This includes Poissy’s rare vestiges. These vestiges reflect Poissy’s rich past. The association organizes visits conferences and exhibitions. CEHA publishes its research. This appears in books and journals. The association welcomes students. It aids them in their studies. CEHA opens its local history library.

Jean Le Floch and Jean-Pierre Leveilley contribute. Jean-Bernard Rigaudeau and Valérie-Anne Witkowski are involved. Marie-Claire Stéfano is the librarian and archivist. Jean Le Floch and Stéphanie Gohin-Lefèvre manage communications. Martine Van Ceunebroecke and Federica Guyot-Sionnest work on Chronos Poissy. Jean-Bernard Rigaudeau and Jean-Pierre Leveilley are delegates. They represent Carrières-sous-Poissy. Joseph Honoré is an honorary member.
