Was it truly just 100 years ago? The Centro Comercial e Industrial de Lanús stands as a testament to time. It embodies the spirit and evolution of this community.

In 1912, this institution emerged. It was initially a branch of the Avellaneda Commercial Center. At that time Lanús and Avellaneda formed a single Partido. The aim was to better represent the Lanús area.

Mario Dana is a local merchant. He owns three sports and school clothing stores on 25 de Mayo Street. Dana says the Centro Comercial e Industrial is a model institution. It helped found the Municipality of Lanús. This fills him with great pride.

In the past, the Centro Comercial e Industrial offered commercial advice. Over the years, it expanded its services. Today it supports local businesses and industries. Members receive accounting, tax, and legal assistance. The center also represents them when needed.

But it is not only about business. The Centro Comercial e Industrial de Lanús has a cultural side too. It boasts its own orchestra. They perform concerts from April to December. There is also a chamber choir led by Orlando Rosas. An art gallery honors Vicente Forte. He was a renowned painter from Lanús.

Eduardo Civeira owns a real estate agency. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1954. Civeira notes the Centro Comercial e Industrial has helped establish other institutions. The associations of Lawyers and Auctioneers began here. Later they became independent.

To celebrate its 100th anniversary, a grand dinner was held. Pianist Gerardo Amarante and singer Miguel Ángel Roda performed. Roda was a contestant on “La Voz Argentina”. Carlos Pedro Zerbo is the current president. He called the evening emotional and beautiful. Many friends from other institutions attended.

Mario Dana is very happy about the anniversary. He even had a suit specially made for the occasion. Dana explains that the institution has changed and grown. Great presidents and boards of directors made this possible. He recalls when the area was mostly fields. Now it is a thriving city.

Civeira proudly recounts past achievements. He says they worked hard for the first sewage system. They also fought for the Velodrome and autonomy. Thanks to these efforts, they celebrated 100 years together.

The Centro Comercial e Industrial de Lanús has shaped this city. It continues to foster progress. It is a place where commerce meets culture. It is a symbol of community pride. The Avenida 9 de Julio address marks a place where history continues to unfold.
