A child’s laughter rings out, echoing the joy of a Christmas gift received. Here at Celestial Vision, located on West Fullerton Avenue, the spirit of giving runs deep. Celestial Ministries Association, the heart behind Celestial Vision, strives to uplift the North Lawndale community and beyond. Their mission resonates within these walls, a commitment to strengthening families and fostering future leaders. It all began in 1990 with Stanley Ratliff. While incarcerated, he enrolled his children in the Prison Fellowship Angel Tree Program. This simple act of love sparked a flame. Upon his release, Stanley and his wife Antoinette founded their own Angel Tree program in 1993, right here in North Lawndale. Celestial Vision became a beacon of hope, extending far beyond the neighborhood’s boundaries. The Angel Tree program, hosted by Celestial Vision, has touched the lives of over 16,000 children. Their impact ripples through various programs, from mobile outreach to music theory, nurturing growth and connection. Imagine the joy on those children’s faces as they unwrap gifts, a symbol of their parent’s love and the community’s support. Celestial Vision doesn’t just provide presents. It offers resources and programs that connect families and empower individuals. The organization collaborates with Restorative Justice Community Partners. This partnership forms a vital part of their violence prevention initiative, weaving a stronger fabric within the community. Celestial Vision’s work is a testament to the power of compassion. Driven by dedicated volunteers and the generosity of supporters, they continue to illuminate lives and build a brighter future, one child, one family, one community at a time.
