Established in 1918. Catholic Community Services stands as a beacon of hope. It serves Western Washington. Its roots are deeply embedded in Catholic social teaching.
Catholic Community Services began with a group of Catholic women. They organized efforts to aid the poor. They supervised boarding and group homes. These homes were for orphaned and abandoned children. They helped place children for adoption.
By 1937, the organization incorporated. Its primary focus became assisting with foster care. This followed World War I. Catholic Community Services is a charter member of United Way of King County.
The East King County Family Center in Bellevue opened in 1987. The South King County Family Center in Kent opened in 1992. The central office in Seattle is named the Randolph Carter Family & Learning Center.
Catholic Community Services is the largest multi-service, community-based organization. It serves Western Washington. Each year it serves over seventy thousand children, families, individuals, and elders. It does this through twelve family centers.
Catholic Community Services offers diverse services. These include Volunteer Chore Services and Youth Tutoring Programs. Emergency Assistance and Counseling and Mental Health Services are available. Chemical Dependency Counseling is also provided.

Affordable Housing and Meals Programs are available. Legal Consultation and Early Learning and Child Care Services are also provided.
